Moroccan Chicken {Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free}

Moroccan Chicken is a savory dish made with an aromatic blend of cinnamon, cumin, turmeric, garlic, paprika, and lemon. Chicken thighs are smothered in an exotic sauce with garbanzo beans, lentils, onions, and raisins.

  • 6 chicken thighs skin on
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large sweet onion  chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon  lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon gluten-free flour I prefer rice flour
  • 3 cups gluten-free chicken broth or bone broth You can also use gluten-free bouillon
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 packages of Path of Life Garbanzos and Lentils
  • 1 package of Path of Life Organic Quinoa and Brown Rice
US Customary - Metric


  1. In a large pan heat oil on high.
  2. Salt and pepper both sides of the chicken thighs.
  3. Cook chicken thighs until they are crispy on both sides. Remove and transfer to another plate.
  4. Add the sweet onion and garlic and saute in the oil for 5 minutes.
  5.  Add the turmeric, cumin, cinnamon and lemon zest and stir until fully combined.
  6. Add chicken broth, honey and gluten-free flour and stir until fully combined.
  7. Return the chicken thighs back to the pan, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  8. Remove lid and add the Path of Life Garbanzos and Lentils and raisins. Stir to combine in the sauce.
  9. Cook for an additional 15-20 minutes uncovered.
  10. Prepare Path of Life Organic Quinoa and Brown Rice according to the package.
  11. Garnish with fresh cilantro or lemon.
  12. Enjoy!
