Brown Butter Steak

Take your steak to the next level with this simple technique of cooking them in a savory brown butter sauce.

  • 1 6 oz Your choice of steak meat
  • 1 tablespoon  olive oil per steak
  • 1 tablespoon  of butter per steak
  • 1 teaspoon of sage per steak
  • salt I use pink Himalayan sea salt


  • Cover the steaks on both sides with salt.
  • Allow steaks to come to room temperature.
  • In a small saute pan heat the olive oil over hight heat. Oil needs to be really hot to make a perfect crust.
  • Place steak in the pan and cook over high heat for 3 minutes.
  • Turn steak over and add butter and sage.
  • Spoon butter and sage over steak as it cooks for 3 more minutes.
  • Remove steak from the pan and allow it to rest before serving.
  • You can use a larger pan and cook several steaks at one time.
