This easy homemade Gluten-Free Taco Seasoning comes together in just 5 minutes using simple pantry spices for a bold, savory blend that's perfect for tacos, burritos, nachos, and more.
Add all of the ingredients in a small bowl and stir to combine.
If only using half of the taco seasoning, store in an airtight container or zip lock bag.
Notes
This recipe makes enough for 2 lbs of ground meat. If you are only cooking 1 lb., use half the batch and save the rest in an airtight container for later.
Always check your spice labels. Not all spices are certified gluten-free. Check each label to make sure they are produced in a gluten-free facility, especially if you have celiac disease. Mama says, "check all of your labels!"
Leave out the paprika if you are following AIP. The blend still works well without it.
To cook the meat, sprinkle the seasoning over the browned meat, add ¼ to ⅓ cup of water, and simmer uncovered for 3 to 5 minutes until the liquid reduces and the seasoning clings to the meat.
To add heat, add ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper, chili powder, or crushed red pepper flakes to the blend before using.
Store the dry blend in an airtight container in a cool, dry pantry for up to 6 months.
Store cooked taco meat in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
