How Do I Use Pan Drippings To Make Gravy?
If you are going to use the pan drippings from your meat in place of the butter, you will need to strain out the fat or gristle.
You can do this by pouring the drippings liquid through a fine-mesh strainer into a measuring cup.
What Kind of Gluten-Free Broth Makes The Best Gravy?
It all depends on what flavor of gravy you want for your meal. You can use chicken, beef or vegetable broth.
Just make sure that the broth you are using is labeled gluten-free.
You can make your own broth by using gluten-free bouillon cubes or gluten-free granules.
Can I Make This Gravy With Gluten-Free Flour?
Gluten-free flour is expensive, and I have found that cornstarch works just as well as flour. If you have a sensitivity to corn, you can use gluten-free rice flour in place of the cornstarch.
To use the rice flour, whisk the flour into the melted butter before you add the chicken broth to make a roux.
What Are The Best Seasonings To Use In Making Gravy?
I like my gravy savory, so I always add seasoning to my gravy. Besides the traditional salt and pepper, I also like adding dried thyme, dried sage, onion powder, or garlic powder to the gravy.
It really depends on what I am serving with the gravy. For this recipe, I made a chicken gravy with dried tyme as an extra seasoning. But extra seasoning is really optional.
I also went light on the salt because broth tends to be salty, so make sure you taste your gravy before adding extra seasoning.
Can This Gravy Be Made Vegan?
Yes! To make this gravy vegan, you can use vegan butter and vegetable broth.
Gluten-Free And Dairy-Free Gravy
I have also included a dairy-free option for the gluten-free gravy recipe. My husband, myself and youngest son are all dairy-free as well.
For the dairy-free option, I used Smart Balance butter. So, now you too can enjoy a gluten-free and dairy-free gravy.
I promise that it is just as delicious made with dairy-free butter.
Some of my favorite dairy-free alternatives that I like to cook with are almond, cashew or coconut milk. I also like cooking with olive oil, coconut, or Smart Balance butter.
This gluten-free gravy is perfect served with any meal. Its savory flavor complements both meat and side dishes.
I love mashed potatoes covered in gravy. My family also loves this gravy, especially during Thanksgiving and the holidays. This recipe makes an easy gluten-free turkey gravy.
I serve it alongside my Easy Gluten-Free Stuffing and Gluten-Free Dinner Rolls.
You don’t have to wait for Thanksgiving or the holidays to enjoy gluten-free gravy. This gravy recipe is so easy that you can make it for any meal!

This was the star of the evening yesterday! We had 6 cups of turkey drippings, so I tripled this recipe. Good thing because almost all of it disappeared yesterday. Super yummy. I think next time I will use fresh thyme and, if I can find it, marjoram. This was one of the few times that I’ve been able to have gravy – now it’s time to get a gravy boat! Thank you!

Delicious and very easy to make. I made mine using bone broth and served it with chicken and mashed potatoes. It was a great addition to my otherwise ordinary meal. I will definitely use this recipe again!

I just made this for my wife. She’s been having a rough time with the dairy-free and gluten free diet for her health. She hasn’t found a GF bread that tastes good. This was a great recipe, great flavor, and easy prep! I will be making 2 loaves of this weekly from now on!
