If you’re like me and love juicy chicken wings but need to avoid gluten, you might think Buffalo Wild Wings is off-limits (we all know how sneaky gluten can be in condiments!). While this fast-casual spot doesn’t have a dedicated gluten-free menu, they offer several options made without wheat or gluten. Their website provides a detailed Allergen and Preparation Guide, so you can easily find what’s safe to eat whether you’re dining in or grabbing something to go.

Buffalo Wild Wings offers gluten-free and gluten-friendly options, including many of their most popular menu items can be made gluten free.
That said, like most fast food chains, there’s always a chance of cross-contamination. Even items that don’t list gluten or wheat as an allergen can come into contact with gluten through shared preparation spaces, utensils, or even supplier ingredients. Keep in mind that items that are wheat-free are not necessarily gluten-free. Gluten is a protein that’s found in several grains (like barley, rye, and spelt), not just wheat. If you have celiac disease or another health condition that requires strict gluten avoidance, it’s important to exercise caution when dining at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Buffalo Wild Wings Gluten-Free Official Statement
I value Buffalo Wild Wings commitment to transparency regarding their ingredients and allergen information. Although they don’t have an official gluten-free statement, here’s what they have to say about their Allergen and Preparation Guide:
“We know many of our valued Guests have varying degrees of food intolerances and allergies they deal with daily. To ensure you have a safe experience, please review the following information to assist you with selecting menu options that best fit your individual needs. Because of our reliance on suppliers for accurate information, shared cooking and preparation areas in our kitchens, and cooking procedures, we cannot eliminate the risk of cross-contact or guarantee that any item is free of any allergen and no items are certified gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan.”
Buffalo Wild Wings Preparation of Menu Items
Buffalo Wild Wings operates as a shared kitchen, which means preparation areas and utensils can be used for multiple dishes.
- They do not use separate fryers, so fried items can be cross-contaminated with gluten-containing foods.
- The Traditional, Boneless, and Cauliflower Wings are fried and then sauced or seasoned in the same bowls.
- The grills are used for menu items with allergens and gluten.
- While Buffalo Wild Wings receives allergen information from their manufacturers and suppliers, they don’t guarantee its accuracy. There can also be variations in regional suppliers, recipes, and preparation techniques.
Special Requests
To decrease the risk of cross-contamination, ask the Buffalo Wild Wings kitchen staff to clean their workspaces, switch utensils, and change gloves before handling your order. There’s no way to guarantee it’ll be completely gluten-free or that they’ll comply with every request, but it’s definitely worth asking. If you have specific questions, you can ask to speak to the Restaurant Manager.
What To Avoid At Buffalo Wild Wings
If you’re trying to avoid gluten at Buffalo Wild Wings, skip anything with bread-like ingredients like breaded proteins, breads and wraps, or questionable dressings and sauces. It’s common for dressings, sauces, and other condiments to have gluten.

I just read the guide. You have wraps listed in the gluten free options but the wrap itself would contain gluten.
Thank you Tracie! It looks like the guide was updated since this post was written. We have updated our guide as well.
Thank you for this helpful list. My husband is celiac and he eats the traditional wings with parmesan garlic sauce on a regular basis and hasn’t had any issues. That is the only thing he feels safe trying at Buffalo Wild Wings. Maybe I can convince him to try something new or at least a different sauce!
I did notice that you list the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Wrap and other wraps, but they use flour tortillas, unfortunately.
Thank you Ginger! It looks like the guide was updated since this post was written. We have updated our guide as well.
